No matter the challenge, YWCA Central Alabama holds steadfast in our commitment to our community and the people that we serve. Whether dealing with a global health pandemic or addressing persistent social injustices in our communities, the YW has always and will continue to stand for eliminating racism and empowering women.

The annual Purse & Passion program is the event that helps to ensure that no woman or family has to face a challenge alone. Funds raised at this event ensure that parents do not have to sacrifice quality childcare for their children, families can stay together in stable, affordable housing, and a woman who lives in an unsafe household always has a place to go and resources to help her through.

But in order to sustain the work that we do, particularly in a time with increased expenses due to keeping children and families in daycare and shelter safe and healthy, we need your support to further the work we are doing.

Donations to YWCA Central Alabama made during Purse & Passion make a difference. When we support women and families in our community by providing shelter, dignity, hope and a strong foundation – we change the course of lives. You change lives.

This year, in order to ensure the safety of our guests and supporters, we are planning for a virtual event. We are excited to announce that we have TWO WAYS to participate and "join" us to view the Purse & Passion Program!  

• Host at Home/Office - Raise awareness and funds for the Purse & Passion mission by hosting a small group to watch at your house or business. You can have the luncheon come to YOU! Host friends and family in your home or in your yard, and tune in together to the virtual Purse & Passion program. More information on restaurant partners and home/office hosting toolkits coming soon!

• Virtual Host- Raise awareness and funds for the Purse & Passion mission by inviting your friends and family to your virtual Purse & Passion table. Each guest will receive an invite to tune in to the Purse & Passion program virtually to hear the inspiring YWCA client stories and donate towards your table goal. You can also have the luncheon come to YOU! Host friends and family in your home or in your yard, and tune in together to the virtual Purse & Passion program.
